NEW YORK: LeBron James became the youngest player in NBA history to score 5,000 career points on Sunday, pouring in 51 in the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-90 win over the Utah Jazz.

After scoring a season low 14 points in a loss to Sacramento on Saturday, James responded in style, passing Kobe Bryant as the youngest player to the 5,000-points mark.

Bryant was 22 when he reached the milestone while James just celebrated his 21st birthday on December 30.

More importantly for the Cavs, James’s big night helped the team snap a six-game losing streak.
